Glasscock Sheriff Release Paths
The official sheriff page is the first local source. It names Sheriff Keith Burnett, gives the office telephone, and directs the public to VINELink. It does not publish a jail roster, release list, booking-photo gallery, detention rules, release desk hours, or online records form. That gap matters. The absence of a name from an online list cannot prove release because there is no verified Glasscock roster to check.
Ask whether the person was released on bond, discharged after time served, transferred to a receiving jail, sent to TDCJ, or delivered to a federal or immigration agency. A transfer closes one agency’s custody segment but does not mean freedom. The sheriff’s arrest or transport record can document the Glasscock part. The physical jail’s booking and release log documents the cell-door departure and stated disposition.
| Answer | Next record |
|---|---|
| Community release | Closed booking and release record |
| Another county | Receiving jail roster and booking record |
| TDCJ transfer | TDCJ offender search after intake |
| Federal or ICE transfer | Correct federal locator and case record |
Confirm Glasscock Sheriff Release
Start with exact identity and the arrest date. Similar names and dates can join two records by mistake. The full county search and record path is also explained on the Glasscock County released inmates search.
- Call the sheriff at 432-354-2361 and provide the full name and approximate arrest date.
- Ask for the booking number and the exact physical housing jail.
- Ask whether departure meant community release or transfer, and record the destination and event time.
- Check the named custodian’s live system, then request its closed booking and release record.
- Compare the jail event with the bond order, judgment, dismissal, or discharge in the court file.
Glasscock Sheriff Records Contact
The sheriff office is the reliable starting point for custody attribution. No office hours are published on the reviewed sheriff page, so call before traveling. Ask which office accepts a written Texas Public Information Act request and which jail maintains the booking record.

Request existing fields, not a new report. Useful terms are full name, date of birth, arrest date, booking number, housing facility, admission and departure times, release type or authority, transfer destination, and the booking photograph. If another county held the person, send that jail the booking portion while asking Glasscock for its arrest and transport records.
No Glasscock County Jail
The Texas Commission on Jail Standards population reports provide the official context. The July 2026 workbook classifies Glasscock as “no jail.” That is an aggregate county fact, not a person locator. It explains why a Glasscock arrest may surface in another county’s jail data and why a local courthouse address should not be treated as a release desk.
A housed-elsewhere report is periodic. It cannot identify one person’s current location or prove an individual release. Use its date and limits. Then obtain a case-specific answer from the sheriff and receiving custodian.
The official sheriff source also shows the local contact and VINELink referral.

The captured page confirms that telephone contact and VINE, not a local jail roster, are the published starting channels.
Historic Jail Is Not Active
Search results may point to the courthouse and jail built in 1894. The Texas Historical Commission record calls it a former courthouse and jail and gives service dates ending in 1909. It is local history, not a current detention site.
Do not travel to 117 E. Currie expecting booking staff or a release exit. Call the sheriff and confirm the modern housing jail. The historical entry’s former-use label is the key fact that resolves this local navigation trap.
Track Each Glasscock Handoff
Custody attribution is the central record problem. The arresting sheriff, physical housing jail, sentencing court, and later state or federal agency can all be different. Write down each agency, identifier, event time, and source date. A sound custody timeline might read: Glasscock arrest, receiving-county booking, receiving-jail departure, then TDCJ intake. Only the evidence after the last step establishes whether the person reached the community.
VINELink may show an agency-fed custody event, but it is not a certified release record. Court files add legal cause. The combined County and District Clerk can help locate a bond order, dismissal, judgment, sentence, or discharge when the online jail trail ends.
- Release
- Departure to the community under the stated legal authority.
- Transfer
- Movement from one custodian to another while detention continues.
- Discharge
- Completion of the custody or supervision obligation shown by the responsible agency.
- Detainer
- A request or authority that may keep custody in place for another agency.
Request Glasscock Release Proof
Texas Government Code Chapter 552 governs written public-information requests. Ask for an electronic copy and request a cost estimate. Glasscock publishes no special release-record fee schedule, so no fixed amount should be assumed. The agency may redact confidential data or cite an exception while releasing separable public fields.
The maintaining custodian matters more than the arrest label. A narrow request reduces delay and helps distinguish Glasscock’s own transport record from the receiving jail’s release log. Keep the response, request date, and any clarification in the same file as the court disposition.
Note: Confirm the final agency and event before saying a person left custody.
Reconcile Glasscock Release Identity
A useful confirmation ties one person to one booking. Begin with the exact name used at arrest, date of birth, approximate arrest date, and any booking or case number. Record spelling variants rather than forcing them into one version. A VINELink result, court index, and receiving-jail record may format the same name in different ways. Shared names are common enough that name alone is weak proof.
Dates also describe different events. Arrest time, receiving-jail admission, court order, release authorization, jail-system posting, and physical departure may fall on separate dates. Ask which timestamp a clerk is reading. If the event crossed midnight, retain the full date and time instead of reducing it to a single day. The court order explains why custody could end, while the jail log supplies the physical departure. Both can be true without showing the same time.
Build a short source table in personal notes. For each answer, record the agency, identifier, event label, timestamp, and date checked. Do not merge a prior booking with a new arrest. If two sources conflict, return to the agency that created each field and ask what its label means.
Glasscock Court Release Confirmation
The county’s combined clerk is an important second channel when the custody trail ends online. Contact the Glasscock County and District Clerk at 432-354-2371. The physical office is 209 South Myrl Street, and the mailing address is P.O. Box 190, Garden City, TX 79739. Confirm hours and any copy cost before travel.
Ask staff to identify the court and case number first. Then request the docket sheet and the document that authorized the change, such as a bond order, dismissal, judgment, sentence, revocation disposition, or discharge. A felony matter may run through the 118th District Court, while another charge may belong in a different court. Route by case number and charging level rather than assuming every sheriff arrest became a district case.
The statewide re:SearchTX portal is another lead, but local participation, user role, document type, and fees affect access. A blank result does not erase a Glasscock case. Older paper files, alternate spellings, restricted records, or local indexing can account for the gap. The clerk’s iDocMarket link is for land and official property records, not a criminal release search.
Glasscock Release Request Sequence
Send separate, narrow requests when two agencies hold different parts of the event. Ask Glasscock County for the arrest report, transport record, identity of the housing jail, transfer time, and destination. Ask the receiving jail for the closed booking summary, admission and departure times, release authority, and booking photograph. This division respects who created each record and avoids asking one office to produce another agency’s data.
A request can state: provide the closed records for the named person and approximate arrest date, including the booking number, housing facility, booking and release date and time, release type, authority, and transfer destination. Request an electronic copy and a cost estimate. Under the Texas Public Information Act, an office may redact confidential fields or cite an exception. It need not create a new report. Ask it to release the separable public fields that already exist.
If Glasscock seeks clarification, answer with the smallest useful date range and record type. Preserve the original request, reply, estimate, records, and any cited withholding authority. That file supports a precise statement about release and shows which part still requires verification.
